ESSAY 25 – SATAN

Satan is the absence of good just as a moonless starless night is the absence of light. We do not like the darkness but we tolerate it because it is there; a product of God’s creation. We work around it and make the best of it; loving the presence of the light all the more for we know that the light follows the darkness. We long for the light when we are forced to cope with the terror and disadvantages of the night.

So it is with Satan. We delete him from our lives when we are blind-sided by him; we step over him and seek the light that glows, free from his darkness. We accept his presence as a part of life. We remove his presence from ourselves as soon as we detect the darkness, moving ourselves away from the shadow of his physical, emotional or mental temptation and enveloping our being in the spiritual light that abounds in God and with which He surrounds us.

Don’t waste time hating the darkness; it is not worth it. He enjoys being hated. This is one way Satan gets you to feel hate. Ignoring him and moving on is one way to defeat him and his posers. Hate his ways, not him.

Satan exists as a destructive force; sometimes called a being. We know him by his acts in and around us. Do not absolve his actions but ignore his person and be aware of the myths and legends he ascribes to himself to incite fear and terror. God’s perfect plan protects His own.
