ESSAY 23 – “PEMP” IN PARADISE

The Angels were with God in Eternity when He planned the world of Time for them. They thought PEMP (Physical, Emotional and Mental Pain) was a grand idea. They felt that they would immediately seek out God as soon as they felt pain. Of course, they had to first feel pain with human constitutions to know how it really felt; just as they needed to feel pleasure with their human faculties before they would understand how they could be tempted to seek out pleasure over the satisfaction of Righteousness. They could not understand choice because they had never experienced it. That was what the plan was all about.

God in his complete wisdom knew and warned them of the growth of this tree in the garden of Earth’s pleasure. He knew they would be born into this garden of earth pleasures and would make wrong choices and suffer from them. God knew all men would make bad choices and made provision for them in His plan. If they held on to their love and belief in God He would send into their Earth a part of Himself to be with them and personally direct them by word, acts and example to renew their knowledge in Him and His love for them; and He would use His own PEMP to show them again their way back to Eternity; to show them how to make the good choices when faced with PEMP. With the existence of Christ, they would learn only to choose God. Once they chose his righteousness over the pleasures of earth they could again be ready for Eternity. They had to get it right.

God and his Righteousness must take precedence over all earthly pleasures. The man who can make this choice correctly now lives out his earthly life committed to God and at his earthly death returns to God. But the man who chooses earthly pleasures over commitment to God must continue living on earth again and again. If he becomes entangled in earth’s pleasures and temptations and refuses to accept that a God of Righteousness exists, he denies God and God denies him. God no longer knows that man spirit and upon death that man spirit is tied to the earth and its pleasures. He has now become a spirit of evil and a demon who hates the good; he acts against the good in men with all the deadly malice he can imagine. However, these demons are a part of the spirit world that God uses to help man find Him through PEMP. They unwittingly help God direct mankind to turn to God for help, solace and God’s love in their time of pain and suffering. God is always there; a ready help in time of need. God will deliver.
